High Five Literacy

Looking for Help in Reading and Writing for your Children?

The High Five Literacy Program at Wayne State University is open to students in first through sixth grade. The program will provide free tutoring in reading and writing skills two days a week from the second week of May through the middle of June for the Spring 2024 semester. The program will be available two days week during the Spring 2024 semester. Tutors are preservice teachers completing their coursework in the teacher certification program under the supervision of faculty in the Reading, Language, and Literature program.

  • Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Time: 5:40 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.

HIGH FIVE LITERACY PROGRAM APPLICATION FORM (1st - 6th grade)

Spring 2024

The High Five Literacy Program for 2024 will be in person two days a week. Program will begin Monday, May 13, 2024 and end on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5:40 pm - 6:40 p.m. at that time there will be teachers there to work with your children.

Please fill out the application if the day and times work for your child. 

Submissions for this form have closed on May 13, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

The program can accommodate a limited number of students, therefore, students; will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. Students who are not selected will be placed on a waiting list until the next opening is available for each academic year. Applicants must reapply each school year.
